Somnath Jyotirlinga was established at Mahadev Dwar to free Chandradev from the curse. Prajapati Daksha who was the ruler of the earth cursed Chandradev because Chandradev was married to 27 daughters of Prajapati Daksha but Chandradev only love Rohini.
Loved him, he was not acceptable to Prajapati Daksha, so he curse Chandradev to decay. So Chandradev made an earthly Shivling of Mahadev and worshiped it and Mahadev gave darshan to Chandradev and free Chandradev from the curse of Prajapati Daksha.
